As Konami Man and Konami Lady, it is your mission to free the Heroes of the Konami Universe and stop the threat against it! At game's start, you will be situated in Dr. Cinnamon's Lab. This will be the HQ from which you can refill your health and reanimate fallen allies. This is the launching pad from which you may go to the different Konami worlds.
Transverse the various Konami Worlds through Gate 2 and rescue the 6 captured Konami Heroes to get access to the last stage! You will have to do some searching in each stage to find the Hero's cell, and the key needed to free him. As you progress, keep your eyes out for power-up items to increase your abilities.
Keep in mind that not all stages are clearable at start, as you will reach paths that are accessible only the certain members of your party that may or may not have yet joined your group.
After you have rescued all six heroes, it's time to mount an attack against the alien force behind the trouble! When you think you are ready to go, take hatch number 3, select an aircraft to board, and tackle the threat on The Konami Universe!

HEART : The small ones refill two bars of life energy, the large ones refill five. Generally obtained from defeated enemies, but they can be found in mystery chests and placed in specific areas as well. |
BULLET: This is the ammunition for your special attack. A standard Bullet icon gives you five, while the glowing ones give you one hundred. They can be found in specific areas or from defeated enemies. |
MAGIC POTION: This item will instantly restore the life of a character to full. Only found in specific areas. |
MYSTERY BOX: Only accessible through Goemon, it will reveal a big heart once opened. |
KEY: To free a Konami Hero, you will need this item. While a few are just left lying around, a stage boss holds the rest. |
CAPSULE: Originating from the Gradius series, this item will double all characters attack power. |
ARMOR: This suit of armor will reduce damage taken by one half for all characters. |
Bullet Weapon:Each of these items will grant you a second attack for one specific character. Only the weapons' specific user can collect this item.
MANTLE:With this special item, Konami Man and Konami Lady can fly! |
ONIGIRI: Originating from Ganbare Goemon, it will refill the life of a character the instant his life energy drops to zero. It may only be used once. |
BELL:Shoot this item out of clouds. If you can keep the bell from falling with enought shots, it will transform into a power-up. From Twinbee. |
Speed-up: It will increase your ship's speed. You can grab multiple speed-ups and increase your speed dramatically. |
OPTION: Collecting this glowing orb will give your ship a vertical clone that will basically double your attack ability. |
BARRIER: Another Gradius standard, it gives your ship a shield that can block forward coming shots. |
Ripple Laser:This item will power up Twinbee's standard attack. Your shot will become a ripple laser for wide area attacks. |
Rocket Punch: This is the special weapon of Twinbee, and can only be used by it.. Shoots a powerful boomeranging punch attack vertically. |
Laser: This item will power up Vic Viper's standard attack. Your shot will become a powerful, piercing laser |
Missle: this is the special weapon of Vic Viper, and can only be used by him. It shoots a powerful missile that homes in on targets |
---Remember that every character is uniquely capable for handling different situations and areas. Don't just rely on one character.
---Finger massing is a must for short range attacks, with the speed of some characters, you can do multiple hits before an enemy can advance on you.
---Be extra weary about letting any character in your party die, as they may be critical for you to pass a section.
---Normal attacks can ONLY hurt ONE target at a time. Be cautious of this when attacking bands of enemies that are close together. Just because the attack connected doesn't mean it dealt any damage.
---When on stairs, you cannot jump, duck, switch weapons or switch characters. Therefore, it is best if you try to walk through them as quickly as possible and make the necessary weapon/character changes beforehand.
---The game does not scroll vertically for you when you fall. Therefore, jumping down any hole means instant death! Always take stairs for climbing down.
---Your character does not flinch from attacks. This means as that you can't be knocked down during a jump or in flight, but this also means enemies can cause a great amount of damage if they decide to hang around you.
---Special weapons can ONLY be picked up by their user. Remember to change character appropriately before trying to collect the item.
---A glitch in the game will cause "break away blocks" to reappear after you pause the game. Be careful, as you may end up trapping yourself!
---Unlike Hearts and Bullets, you can only pick up one Onigiri, so be sure to conserve it for your most vital character and the end boss!
---Likewise, mystery boxes vanish, never to reappear once opened. So don't have Goemon open them unless you really need some life energy.

The truly first video game crossover, Wai Wai World brought Konami game characters together from a wide spectrum of genres to the delight of many fans. Although they did well to make the game effect feel like a real hodgepodge of games, also turn off for a lot of players by its simplistic difficulty.
The game engine itself was modeled heavily on the Castlevania Model, with a steady moving character and stairs. As of which, the game supported a search element, as you are allowed to take different paths and explore. Unfortunately, the goals of your travel is quite linear as you must find key, hero, then special attack in that order, so players will find themselves doing a lot of back tracking.
Although, conceptually, being able to switch between 8 different characters, each with their own life bar, would lead one to assume that survival would be a piece of cake, the game essentially mandates that all heroes must stay alive or else the player will suffer the fate of being stuck in certain areas of the game. This, coupled with all characters' slow movement and parry attacks and the lack of flinching away from damage, can make staying alive quite a handful. This game was meant for a real gamer. With the game's password system, players were expected to practice through the various stages of the game and master it before heading off to the next area. Coupled with the difficulty of each area, this extends the play life of what normally would be a short game of only 8 stages.
In truth though, this game was meant for a real gammer, with the game's password system, players were expected to practice through the various stages of the game and master it before heading off to the next area. Coupled with the difficulty of each area, it extends the play life of what normally would be a short game of only 8 stages.
